The Race to Recover America's Missing Children PDF Print E-mail

What an amazing adventure!  Fireball Run 2 "Back to the Track" is now history.  We started out in Baton Rouge, LA with an incredible send off from a wonderful city, then traveled 3500 miles through Shreveport, LA; Jackson, MS; Tuscaloosa, AL; Tupelo, MS;  St. Louis, MO; Westmont, IL, and finally Grand Rapids, MI.  Thank you to all of these cities as they each provided a fantastic experience for the Fireballers.  From special receptions to police escorts, the Fireball Run teams were treated like celebrities.  And well they should be... each team participating in this once in a lifetime event had adopted a different missing child and while they played this "game" they actively searched for their assigned child, posting flyers and asking people, "Have you seen this child?" as part of the Race to Recover America's Missing Children.   A very special thank you to RISO for printing and shipping 50,000 flyers of our missing children.

Fireball Run Winners Kevin & Michelle

When it was over Team 7, the Organic

Racing Team of Kevin and Michelle Boulton, had accummulated the most points through completing their missions (figuring out via clues just where the heck they were going next), on the tracks, and by earning bonus points.    As the winners they were awarded their tradional "Road Sign" plaques and bragging rights for the next year!

The teams brought a wide array of vehicles for the FBR.Shelby Cobra

If you were lucky enough to be somewhere along the route, you saw Lamborghinis, Corvettes, a Bentley painted to resemble the General Lee, Mercedes, Mustangs, Chargers, a Challenger, Jaguars, BMWs, Lincolns, Audis, a Trans Am, a 40 foot stretched limo, a Tuk Tuk, the "Back to the Future" car, a Shelby Cobra, a Viper, pick up trucks, plus a huge Freightliner semi truck, and more...

We received some great news by the time we reached Grand Rapids...  One of children we were searching for had been found when the California Highway Patrol stopped a stolen vehicle and found the 2 year-old who had been abducted in July!

The teams, who truly take our cause seriously, also heard from the father of one of our missing kids at our stop in St. Louis.  Hearing first hand the heart wrenching ordeal of a father searching for his little girl touched everyone and certainly reaffirmed the importance of this "game."  Viper

This three million dollar awareness campaign was hugely successful last year when the rally traveled from Orlando, FL to Beverly Hills, CA.  Of the 65 children featured last year, 24 have since been rescued and reunited with their families and guardians.  With over 700 children abducted every single day, the need to raise awareness is paramount.

Child Rescue Network thanks the Fireball Run (J, Martin, and Natalie) and all of the participants for their commitment to making a difference.
